A Sodick AG100L CNC die sink machine, installed by WHSmith and Sons (Tools) Ltd, means the company can spark large tools, such as automotive radiator grille cavities, in about a week (100-150 hours) whereas before it could take four weeks using machines of smaller capacity.
Toolroom Manager, Stephen Hunt, comments; “The AG100L is not limited to large parts and electrodes. It is also excellent for features such as thin ribs, and the greater capability of the machine gives us new freedom from a design perspective.”
