Sodi-Tech are on the brink of the most successful year to date with record sales in both machines and consumables
Despite reports that suggest the UK manufacturing economy is shrinking, we are delighted to be on the brink of our most successful year to date. So far, 2012 has seen record sales for us on both the machine and consumables sides of the business. Although the recent purchasing manager’s index showed that manufacturing shrank at its fastest rate in more than three years in July, we are continuing to grow.
Already we have seen a consistent increase on the number of consumables sales from last year’s figures. Following on from a 25% increase in sales in 2011 from the previous year, we are once again on target to enjoy another 25% increase on sales at the year end. Parts sales also demonstrate impressive growth, putting us on course for a 10% increase in total sales from 2011 at the end of the year.
Sales of our Wire EDM machines also correlate to our impressive consumables sales figures. Last year was our record year for machine sales and so far this year we are on course to equal last year’s figure. With increasing machine sales to the aerospace and medical sectors and a lot of repeat business coming in, we are happy to be ‘bucking the trend’ for UK manufacturing.
We attribute this continuing success to the quality of the products we sell as well as our customer service excellence. All our products are designed with built-in longevity, which means they consistently deliver the highest standards of accuracy year on year. That’s why we are confident in providing customers who buy our EDM machines with Sodick’s 10-year Positioning Accuracy Guarantee; ensuring that cutting precision is never compromised over time. With our products, you can achieve micro-precision cutting and because we have no wear and tear parts, the need for replacements is reduced.
Our approach to customer service is also key to our continued success. We invest in our teams of staff, many of whom stay with the company for many years, which means they have the technical knowledge and expertise that our customers have come to rely on when making decisions about machine purchases. As part of our success, we are expanding our team, and in order to support our rising sales figures and increased demand, we have recently taken on a new Spares and Service Co-ordinator, Adam Gassor. Adam joins us with considerable customer service experience having worked in the hospitality sector for a number of years. He brings with him to the role immaculate attention to detail, initiative and an attitude for hard work.
Adam’s main duties are helping out in all aspects of spares and service, picking orders, arranging deliveries and ensuring that customers are receiving the parts they require on time and with service advice when needed. As we help to train him to the high standards that we pride ourselves on, Adam is set to become an integral member of the Sodi-Tech team.
